Huy Ha (pronounced like the French word “oui” for “yes”) is infamously known as DJ Oui Boogie and based in the Bay Area, California. “Hella Fun”, “Funky and Fresh”, “Weird and Professional” are some of the ways clients have described their experiences and event with DJ Oui Boogie! Also known for his signature look of horn rim black glasses and wild hair, any event with Oui Boogie is sure for great music and good vibes.
Huy was born and raised in the East Bay - Fremont, CA to be exact. As a teenager, Huy entered the music realm playing the electric guitar since he was 12. After 8 years of being involved in the metal scene, he was the lead guitarist and vocals for an indie band Mordecai.
At the age of 18, Huy entered the hip hop scene and was introduced to The Art of Breakdancing. During the 10 years of being highly active in the Bay Area hip hop dancing scene, Huy also discovered a love and natural talent for “turntablism”, also known as The Art of DJing.
Nowadays, Huy can be found DJing and spinning for weddings, corporate parties, dance battles, community gatherings, festivals and many other specialized events on a consistent weekly (and weekend) basis! Huy’s specialties and passions include all eras of Hip Hop, 90s era top hits, soul, dance, afrohouse, bailé funk, new jack swing, and top 40. Huy also loves unexpected music like Postmodern Jukebox, Hamilton, and Disney Classics such as his favorite - The Goofy Movie!
Huy is a man of many talents and skills! If he’s not DJing or dancing, Huy is also a martial arts instructor specializing in Wing Chun and a full-time dog dad to a female frenchie named Brooklyn.
